In criminal matters, we advise on and conduct defence work and private prosecutions across all areas of the field, notably:

  • Offences against the person (assault, homicide, murder, gender-based violence, sexual offences, offences against honour such as defamation, etc.).

  • Road traffic offences.
  • Offences against public administration (malfeasance in public office, bribery, embezzlement, influence peddling).

The regulation of the criminal liability of legal persons deserves particular mention: we specialise in advising on regulatory compliance (criminal compliance). Compliance with internal and external rules, together with codes of conduct and whistleblowing channels, is increasingly linked to, and essential for, protecting an organisation's reputation, becoming a competitive factor rather than merely a legal obligation or a requirement for doing business. Regulators are also paying growing attention to the compliance function and its responsibilities, especially in regulated sectors and entities.

Our professionals work with organisations to identify their regulatory obligations and bring them into line, with the aim of protecting them from the risk of non-compliance and putting efficient procedures in place at a reasonable cost. Our services include, among others:

  • Assistance in implementing crime prevention models (criminal compliance).
  • Setting up the compliance function.
  • Helping to identify compliance obligations and requirements, and assessing exposure to the risk of non-compliance.
